DAY 01 : ARRIVE QUITO, ECUADOR
Welcome to Ecuador – The Middle of the World

Upon arrival at Quito International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your local English-speaking representative and transferred to your deluxe hotel in Ecuador's beautiful capital city.

Nestled high in the Andes Mountains at an elevation of approximately 9,350 feet (2,850 meters), Quito is the second-highest capital city in South America and one of the continent's most fascinating cultural destinations. Surrounded by snow-capped volcanoes and dramatic mountain landscapes, the city combines rich colonial heritage with modern urban sophistication.

 

After check-in, enjoy time at leisure to relax after your international flight and acclimatize to the altitude. Guests may take advantage of the hotel's facilities or enjoy a leisurely stroll through nearby neighborhoods.

In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner featuring Ecuadorian specialties and an introduction to the exciting journey ahead.

DAY 02 : Quito City Tour & Middle Of The World Monument

Following breakfast, embark on a full-day exploration of Quito, one of Latin America's most beautiful colonial cities and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Your tour begins in Quito's Historic Center, regarded as one of the best-preserved colonial districts in the Americas. Walking through cobblestone streets lined with magnificent churches, monasteries, and elegant plazas, you will discover centuries of Spanish colonial history.

Highlights include the impressive Basilica del Voto Nacional, Ecuador's largest neo-Gothic church, Independence Plaza, the Presidential Palace, and the spectacular Church of La Compañía de Jesús, famous for its breathtaking gold-leaf interior. Continue to the historic San Francisco Church and Monastery, one of South America's oldest religious complexes.

Next, visit El Panecillo Hill, crowned by the iconic statue of the Virgin of Quito. From this elevated viewpoint, enjoy panoramic views across the city's colonial and modern districts framed by the surrounding Andes Mountains.

After lunch, continue to the famous Middle of the World Monument. Here you will stand directly on the Equator, where the Northern and Southern Hemispheres meet. Learn about the scientific expeditions that determined the Earth's equatorial line and enjoy fascinating demonstrations related to gravity and geography.

Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 03 : Quito – Galápagos Islands – Santa Cruz

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to the legendary Galápagos Islands.

Upon arrival at Baltra Airport, complete Galápagos National Park formalities before crossing the Itabaca Channel to Santa Cruz Island. Travel through the island's lush highlands, where the landscape changes dramatically from arid coastal terrain to green forests nourished by mist and rainfall.

Your first stop is El Chato Giant Tortoise Reserve. Here, giant Galápagos tortoises roam freely in their natural habitat. These magnificent creatures, some weighing more than 500 pounds, are among the archipelago's most iconic residents. You will also explore fascinating lava tunnels formed by ancient volcanic eruptions thousands of years ago.

After lunch, visit the world-famous Charles Darwin Research Station in Puerto Ayora. The station plays a vital role in scientific research, conservation, and giant tortoise breeding programs. Learn about ongoing efforts to protect the fragile ecosystems of the Galápagos and discover how Charles Darwin's observations here contributed to the development of his Theory of Evolution.

DAY 04 : North Seymour Island Expedition

Today embark on a full-day yacht excursion to North Seymour Island, one of the premier wildlife destinations in the Galápagos.

The island is renowned for its incredible concentrations of nesting seabirds and offers some of the best wildlife viewing opportunities in the entire archipelago. Accompanied by a certified naturalist guide, follow nature trails through low vegetation and volcanic terrain while observing remarkable wildlife at close range.

Witness spectacular colonies of blue-footed boobies performing their famous courtship dances and magnificent frigatebirds displaying their inflated red throat pouches during breeding season. Other wildlife frequently encountered includes swallow-tailed gulls, marine iguanas, sea lions, lava lizards, and Darwin's finches.

Your guide will explain the unique evolutionary adaptations that have enabled these species to survive in one of the world's most isolated ecosystems.

Lunch will be served aboard the yacht while enjoying beautiful ocean views.

Return to Santa Cruz in the late afternoon.

DAY 05 : Bartolomé Island & Pinnacle Rock

After breakfast, cruise to the spectacular Bartolomé Island, famous for its extraordinary volcanic scenery and iconic Pinnacle Rock.

Upon arrival, ascend a wooden boardwalk leading to the island's summit. Along the way, observe fascinating volcanic formations created by centuries of eruptions and geological activity. At the summit, enjoy one of the most famous panoramic views in the Galápagos Archipelago, overlooking lava fields, crescent-shaped beaches, turquoise bays, and the dramatic Pinnacle Rock.

Following the hike, enjoy snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters surrounding the island. This area offers excellent opportunities to observe Galápagos penguins, sea turtles, tropical fish, rays, and playful sea lions.

The island's surreal volcanic landscape often resembles a lunar environment, making it one of the most photographed locations in Ecuador.

Lunch is served aboard the yacht before returning to Santa Cruz.

DAY 06 : Santa Fe Island Wildlife & Snorkeling

Today enjoy another unforgettable yacht excursion to Santa Fe Island, one of the oldest islands in the Galápagos Archipelago.

Santa Fe features a unique ecosystem characterized by giant prickly pear cactus forests, rugged cliffs, and pristine turquoise bays. During a guided nature walk, observe the endemic Santa Fe land iguana, found nowhere else on Earth, as well as large colonies of sea lions resting along the shoreline.

The island's calm, crystal-clear waters provide exceptional snorkeling conditions. Swim among sea turtles, colorful reef fish, rays, reef sharks, and curious sea lions that often approach visitors underwater.

Throughout the excursion, your naturalist guide will explain the ecological importance of the island and its distinctive flora and fauna.

Lunch is served during the excursion.

Return to Santa Cruz in the afternoon.

DAY 07 : Santa Cruz – Isabela Island

Following breakfast, board a speedboat for the journey to Isabela Island, the largest and most pristine island in the Galápagos Archipelago.

Formed by the merger of six shield volcanoes, Isabela offers some of the archipelago's most dramatic landscapes and richest biodiversity.

Upon arrival in Puerto Villamil, begin a guided exploration of the island. Visit Flamingo Lagoon, where graceful pink flamingos feed in shallow waters. Continue along the Wetlands Trail, a network of paths through mangroves, lagoons, and coastal habitats supporting a wide variety of birdlife.

Later, visit the Giant Tortoise Breeding Center, where conservation programs help preserve several endangered tortoise species native to Isabela.

 

The remainder of the afternoon is free to relax on the island's beautiful white-sand beaches or enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of Puerto Villamil.

DAY 08 : Tintoreras Islets Excursion

This morning enjoy one of the most exciting wildlife excursions in the Galápagos.

Board a small boat for the nearby Tintoreras Islets, a series of lava formations located just offshore from Isabela Island. These islets are famous for their shallow lava channels where white-tip reef sharks, locally known as "Tintoreras," often rest during the day.

During a guided walk, observe marine iguanas sunbathing on volcanic rocks, nesting seabirds, Galápagos penguins, sea lions, and marine turtles.

Following the nature walk, enjoy snorkeling in crystal-clear waters teeming with marine life. Swim alongside colorful tropical fish, sea turtles, rays, sea lions, and possibly reef sharks in their natural environment.

After lunch, return to Puerto Villamil and enjoy a relaxing afternoon at leisure.

DAY 09 : Isabela – Baltra – Guayaquil

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your return flight to mainland Ecuador.

Upon arrival in Guayaquil, Ecuador's largest city and principal commercial center, enjoy a guided city tour.

Visit the modern Malecón 2000 waterfront promenade, one of South America's finest urban renewal projects. Continue to the colorful historic neighborhood of Las Peñas, famous for its colonial architecture, art galleries, and charming streets.

Climb Santa Ana Hill for panoramic views of the city and Guayas River before visiting Parque Seminario, affectionately known as Iguana Park due to the large population of friendly iguanas living freely among visitors.

This evening, gather for a farewell dinner celebrating your remarkable journey through Ecuador and the Galápagos Islands.

The tour price does not include:

  • International airfare.
  • Passport fees, visa fees, vaccination fees, or other travel document expenses.
  • Travel Insurance.
  • Optional tours and excursions.
  • Meals not specifically listed in the itinerary.
  • Alcoholic beverages, soft drinks, bottled water, and beverages during meals unless specifically stated.
  • Personal expenses including laundry, telephone calls, internet charges, room service, minibar charges, spa services, and similar items.
  • Gratuities for guides, drivers, hotel staff, porters, and restaurant staff.
  • Excess baggage charges and airline baggage fees.
  • Any government-imposed taxes, fuel surcharges, airline surcharges, or supplier-imposed charges introduced after publication of the tour.
  • Any item not specifically listed under "Tour Inclusions."
TRAVEL DOCUMENTS

Each passenger is solely responsible for obtaining and carrying a valid passport, visas, vaccination certificates, entry permits, and any other travel documents required by the countries visited. Passport validity requirements, visa regulations, and entry requirements may change without notice. Pollina Tours assumes no responsibility for passengers denied boarding, denied entry, deported, or delayed due to incomplete or improper travel documentation.

HEALTH REQUIREMENTS

It is the responsibility of each passenger to consult with his or her physician regarding fitness to travel, seasickness, motion sickness, altitude considerations, vaccinations, medications, and any health precautions recommended for the countries visited.

Passengers requiring special assistance, mobility devices, wheelchairs, or special medical accommodation must notify Pollina Tours at the time of booking with their doctor's certificate. Due to local infrastructure and terrain, some sightseeing locations may not be accessible to wheelchairs.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

Pollina Tours DO NOT SELL any Travel Insurance, but we strongly recommend that all participants on the tour purchase comprehensive travel insurance from the insurance company of your choice. CFAR (cancel for Any Reason) may be a good Travel Insurance option.

Coverage should include, but not be limited to:

Passengers are solely responsible for selecting and purchasing their own travel insurance coverage.

FORM OF PAYMENT

Payments may be made by check, money order, bank transfer, or other approved payment methods. Checks and money orders should be made payable to:

DEPOSITS AND FINAL PAYMENT

A deposit of $1000 per person is required at the time of booking. Final payment must be received by Pollina Tours at least 90 days prior to departure for tour. Failure to make timely payment may result in cancellation of the reservation and forfeiture of applicable deposits.

CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY

Once booked by you and if cancelled by you, the tour will result in cancellation fee as specified below. We strongly suggest obtaining Travel Insurance from any Travel Insurance company of your choice to cover the reasons of your cancellation. Pollina Tours do not sell any Travel Insurance.

All cancellations must be submitted in writing and received by Pollina Tours during normal business hours.

The following cancellation charges apply per person:

  • Administrative fee after booking: US$500 per person
  • 89 – 60 days prior to departure: 25% of total tour cost
  • 59 – 30 days prior to departure: 75% of total tour cost
  • Within 29 days of departure: 100% of total tour cost

Unused services are non-refundable.

Refund processing generally requires 6 to 8 weeks.

AIRLINE BOOKINGS AND SEAT ASSIGNMENTS

Airline reservations are subject to airline contract regulations. Seat assignments are not guaranteed and remain under the control of the operating airline. Passengers requesting specific seat assignments, upgrades, premium economy, business class, or special seating arrangements may be required to pay additional fees directly to the airline. Pollina Tours cannot guarantee specific seating preferences.

HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS

Hotel accommodation is based on standard rooms with private facilities unless otherwise specified. Special requests such as bed type, connecting rooms, smoking preference, higher floors, adjoining rooms, or specific room locations are requests only and cannot be guaranteed. Hotel check-in and check-out times are determined by each hotel.

GROUP MEALS, DIETARY REQUESTS AND FOOD ALLERGIES

Group meals are provided on a buffet, fixed-menu, table d'hôte, or set-menu basis as arranged by Pollina Tours and its suppliers. Vegetarian and non-vegetarian meal options will be provided based on the menu offered by the hotel, restaurant, airline, cruise operator, or other supplier. Special dietary requests, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, kosher, halal, medical, religious, allergy-related, or other dietary requirements, will be forwarded to suppliers whenever possible but cannot be guaranteed.

Pollina Tours does not prepare or control the preparation of food served by independent suppliers and cannot guarantee ingredients, preparation methods, allergen-free meals, or the absence of cross-contamination. Passengers with food allergies, sensitivities, or special dietary needs travel at their own risk and may need to make independent meal arrangements at their own expense.

Personal food preferences, dislikes, menu choices, portion sizes, and individual tastes cannot be guaranteed and shall not constitute grounds for complaint, refund, compensation, cancellation, or tour interruption.

AIRLINE SCHEDULE CHANGES

Airlines reserve the right to change schedules, aircraft types, departure times, and routes. Pollina Tours reserves the right to modify sightseeing schedules, overnight locations, routing, and sequence of visits as necessary due to airline schedule changes or operational requirements while maintaining the overall integrity of the tour.

RESPONSIBILITY, LIMITATION OF LIABILITY AND TOUR OPERATIONS

Pollina Tours & Travel, Inc. acts solely as an intermediary between tour participants and independent suppliers providing transportation, accommodation, meals, sightseeing, guides, attractions, cruises, trains, airlines, motor coaches, restaurants, and other travel-related services.

Pollina Tours & Travel, Inc., its officers, directors, employees, agents, affiliates, and representatives shall not be liable for any injury, illness, disease, accident, death, loss, damage, delay, inconvenience, disappointment, loss of enjoyment, emotional distress, mental anguish, property damage, additional expense, irregularity, or other damages of any nature whatsoever, whether direct or indirect, arising from or related to the acts, omissions, negligence, default, bankruptcy, insolvency, financial failure, or operational failure of any airline, hotel, cruise line, railway, transportation company, attraction, sightseeing operator, government agency, or other independent supplier.

Without limitation, Pollina Tours shall not be responsible for any loss, damage, delay, cancellation, modification, curtailment, interruption, substitution, additional expense, or inconvenience arising from acts of God, severe weather conditions, floods, earthquakes, landslides, hurricanes, volcanic activity, wildfires, natural disasters, pandemics, epidemics, disease outbreaks, public health emergencies, quarantine requirements, government actions, travel advisories, border closures, visa restrictions, immigration decisions, political unrest, riots, civil disturbances, demonstrations, war, terrorism, labor disputes, strikes, transportation disruptions, fuel shortages, supplier failures, airline schedule changes, flight cancellations, missed connections, airport closures, transportation delays, hotel overbooking, attraction closures, maintenance work, conservation measures, capacity restrictions, national park closures, archaeological site restrictions, monument closures, museum closures, train service interruptions, road closures, or any event beyond the reasonable control of Pollina Tours.

Pollina Tours reserves the right to modify, alter, substitute, postpone, cancel, reroute, or revise any portion of the itinerary whenever deemed necessary for the safety, comfort, welfare, convenience, or operational requirements of the tour participants or suppliers. No specific airline, aircraft type, hotel, room category, train service, attraction, sightseeing location, monument, archaeological site, museum, national park, transportation service, meal venue, guide, departure time, arrival time, or sightseeing sequence is guaranteed.

Pollina Tours reserves the right to substitute comparable accommodation, transportation services, sightseeing attractions, excursions, meals, or other services whenever circumstances require. If a particular attraction, sightseeing excursion, transportation service, or component of the tour becomes unavailable due to circumstances beyond Pollina Tours' control, Pollina Tours may provide a substitute service, attraction, excursion, transportation arrangement, accommodation, or sightseeing program of comparable value or quality, as determined in its sole discretion. Such substitution shall not constitute a material change to the tour and shall not entitle the passenger to cancel the tour or receive a refund beyond any amount expressly provided herein.

Pollina Tours shall not be liable for any consequential, indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or exemplary damages, including but not limited to loss of enjoyment, loss of vacation time, loss of income, missed business opportunities, emotional distress, transportation expenses, accommodation expenses, or other related costs. Passengers are solely responsible for obtaining valid passports, visas, vaccinations, travel documents, and any required entry permits.

Pollina Tours shall not be responsible for denied boarding, denied entry, deportation, missed flights, missed services, delays, or additional expenses resulting from incomplete, expired, inaccurate, or missing travel documentation. Baggage and personal belongings remain at the sole risk of the passenger throughout the tour.

Pollina Tours assumes no responsibility for loss, theft, damage, delay, or misdelivery of baggage or personal property.

Pollina Tours strongly recommends that all passengers purchase comprehensive travel insurance covering trip cancellation, trip interruption, medical expenses, emergency evacuation, baggage loss, travel delays, and other travel-related risks. Pollina Tours reserves the right to accept or reject any person as a tour participant and to remove any participant whose conduct is disruptive, abusive, unsafe, unlawful, or detrimental to the operation of the tour or the enjoyment of other participants. In such cases, no refund shall be given.

Any claim for refund, compensation, reimbursement, or alleged damages arising from the tour must be submitted in writing to Pollina Tours within thirty (30) days following completion of the tour. Failure to provide written notice within such period shall fully constitute a waiver of the claim permitted by law.

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York. Any claim, dispute, or legal proceeding arising out of or relating to the tour, these Terms and Conditions, or any services provided by Pollina Tours shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Nassau County, New York, and the passenger hereby consents to the exclusive jurisdiction of such courts. Passengers agree that any claims against Pollina Tours shall be brought solely in an individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class action, collective action, representative action, or similar proceeding. The passenger contract issued by any airline, cruise line, railway, transportation provider, hotel, or other supplier shall constitute the sole agreement between the passenger and that supplier. Pollina Tours shall not be liable for the acts or omissions of such suppliers.

By submitting a reservation, making payment, and/or participating in the tour, each passenger acknowledges and accepts the risks inherent in international travel and agrees to the limitations of liability set forth herein.
