Day 1 Miami - Buenos Aires, Argentina
Today, you will fly from Miami to Buenos Aires on our selected scheduled airline.
Day 02 Buenos Aires - Bariloche
Arrive in the morning in Buenos Aires. After completing immigration and custom formalities, you will be met and welcomed at the arrival lounge by your local guide to connect flight to Bariloche. Arrive Bariloche and transfer to hotel Charming Luxury Lodge & Private Spa. Enjoy rest of the day to relax and enjoy the beautiful landscape.
Day 03 Bariloche
In the morning, enjoy tour of Bariloche, also known as the “Switzerland of South America”. The tour starts in Bariloche with scenic drive to Campanario Hill.
A chair lift takes you to the top of the hill (1050 m) from where you can enjoy one of the most impressive views Nahuel Huapi and Moreno lakes, El Trébol lagoon, San Pedro and Llao Llao peninsulas, Victoria Island, Otto, López, Goye and Catedral hills, and the main town, San Carlos de Bariloche. Also visit Llao Llao peninsula, San Eduardo Chapel and El Trébol lagoon.
Day 04 Bariloche - Buenos Aires
Your morning is free to enjoy the free time in Bariloche.In the late afternoon, transfer to airport for flight to Buenos Aires. Arrive Buenos Aires and transfer to hotel Novotel.
Day 05 Buenos Aires Ushuaia
After breakfast, transfer to airport for flight to Ushuaia. Arrive and proceed for a tour of Ushuaia before check in at the hotel Los Yamanas. Enjoy your tour of Ushuaia, Argentina’s most important city in Tierra del Fuego, and the southernmost city in the world. We start our adventure at the very end of the world, in Ushuaia! The world’s southernmost city is located in Argentina's Tierra del Fuego on the shores of the Beagle Channel, with the snow-peaked Martial Mountains spanning the horizon. The small port city of Ushuaia was a prison colony until the mid 20th century and today is the capital of Tierra del Fuego.
Day 06 Ushuaia
After breakfast, continue your tour of Ushuaia. Thereafter transfer to the Pier to board your Australis cruise ship on three nights cruise. Check in from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 409 San Martín St. Board cruise ship at 5:30 pm. After a welcome cocktail reception hosted by the Captain and his crew, the ship will depart for “the Southernmost part of the earth”.
Our trip takes us through the Strait of Magellan and Beagle Channel to explore one of the most breathtaking wilderness regions in the world: Southern Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego.
Day 07 Cape Horn Wulaia Bay
We will be sailing through Murray Channel and Nassau Bay to reach Cape Horn National Park, where disembarking is scheduled (weather permitting). The mythical Cape Horn was discovered in 1616 and it is a sheer 425-meter (1,394-foot) high rocky promontory. For many years it was an important navigation route for sailboats between the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, and it is known as the “End of the Earth”. The park was declared a World Biosphere Reserve in 2005. In the afternoon, we will go ashore at historical Wulaia Bay, originally the site of one of the region’s largest Yamana aboriginal settlement. Charles Darwin landed there in 1833, during his voyage on the HMS Beagle. This area is also renowned for the mesmerizing beauty of its vegetation and geography. We will walk through a Magellan forest of lengas, coigües, canelos, ferns, and other endemic vegetation to reach a panoramic viewpoint.
Day 08 De Augustini Sound Aguilia Glacier
We will be sailing through Brecknock, Ocasión, Cockburn, and Magdalena Channels to enter the spectacular De Agostini Sound, in the heart of Darwin Mountain Range. In this area we can see glaciers descending the mountainside all the way down to the sea. In the afternoon, onboard Zodiac boats, we will route to Águila Glacier where we will take an easy walk all the way the base of the glacier. We will experience the beauty of Patagonia’s cold rainforest and see how the power of nature molded the area’s landscape.
Day 09 Magdalena Island Punta Arenas Santiago
Early in the morning (and weather permitting) we will go ashore on Magdalena Island, located in the middle of the Strait of Magellan. The island used to be an essential source of supplies for navigators and explorers and is inhabited by an immense colony of Magellan Penguins that we will be able to see during our walk to the lighthouse. In September and April this excursion is replaced by a ride on Zodiac boat to Marta Island to observe South American Sea Lions. Finally, disembarking at Punta Arenas is scheduled at 11:30 AM. Transfer by motor coach for flight to Santiago, the capital city of Santiago. Arrive and transfer to hotel Plaza San Francisco.
Day 10 Santiago Miami
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and proceed on a tour of Santiago. Drive along the avenues of the downtown area, the Forest Park, the Bella Vista district, the art centre of Santiago and the San Cristobal Hill, a beautiful park located at the foot of the Andes range. At the top is the monument to the Virgin Inmaculada Concepción. Enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the city of Santiago from here. After city tour of Santiago, transfer to airport for flight to Miami.
Day 11 Arrive Miami
Arrive Miami in the morning with happy memories of Patagonia.
